THIS WEEKEND: The Leopards will travel to Lewisburg, Pa., for a crucial pair of Patriot League doubleheaders against Bucknell this Saturday and Sunday. Lafayette currently has a one-game lead on Bucknell for the fourth and final playoff spot with only one series remaining following this weekend. Action will begin at noon each day. The first game of each doubleheader will be a seven-inning game, while the second game each day will be nine innings. Live stats and audio for each game will be available via Bucknell at the links above.

FREE BASEBALL: Three of the Leopards' last five games have gone to extra innings, including a pair of 12-inning marathons (4/12 at Navy, 4/14 vs. Rutgers).

A RARE TIE: The April 14th game vs. Rutgers ended in a 3-3 tie after being called due to darkness after 12 innings. The tie was just the second in head coach Joe Kinney's 16-year career, the fifth all-time at Kamine Stadium/Metzgar Fields, and the 34th in school history.

SCOUTING THE BISON: Bucknell enters this weekend series with an 18-17 overall record and a 4-8 mark in the Patriot League. Lafayette is 21-11 against the Bison since 2007.

Batting .268 as a team, Bucknell is led by Joe Ogren's .369 average. The junior ranks among the Patriot League's top 10 in most offensive categories, including average (.369, 4th), slugging (.554, 3rd), on-base (.484, 2nd), runs (31, 3rd), hits (48, 4th), RBIs (26, 6th), doubles (10, 9th), home runs (4, 1st) and walks (23, 4th).

Bucknell's strength is its pitching staff, which ranks second in the conference with a 3.64 ERA. The Bison possess four of the league's top 10 eligible performers in ERA, including starters Andrew Andreychik (5th -- 2.55), Bryson Hough (7th -- 2.73) and Xavier Hammond (9th -- 3.07), and reliever Mike Castellani (10th -- 3.83).

ANNUAL TAILGATE: The annual Hilton N. Rahn '51 Tailgate is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th at 1 p.m. The tailgate will be held at the Caesar Pavilion at Kamine Varsity House on the Metzgar Athletic Campus during the Leopards' doubleheader with Lehigh. ESPN3: Just a week after appearing on CBS Sports Network, the Leopards already have their next national broadcast lined up. Wednesday's game at Monmouth University is scheduled to be broadcast online by ESPN3 at this link. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.

SENIOR CLASS AWARD: Congratulations are in order for senior relief pitcher Cory Spera, who was recently selected as one of 30 candidates nationally for the Senior CLASS Award, which honors NCAA baseball student-athletes who excel both on and off the diamond. Candidates must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. From the list of 30 candidates, a national media committee will select ten finalists in late April. Those ten names will then be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote.

STEPPING IT UP: The Leopards are performing significantly better in Patriot League games (5-7) as compared to non-conference games (2-11-1).
