EASTON, Pa. - Sophomore linebacker Brandon Bryant and freshman placekicker Jacob Bissell have garnered Patriot League football weekly honors. Bryant was named the Defensive Player of the Week while Bissell collected Special Teams Player of the Week laurels.

Bryant made a career-high 18 tackles (nine solo, nine assists) in a solid defensive effort at Delaware on Sept. 12. He made a pair of third-down tackles that helped Lafayette finish off goal-line stands and held the Blue Hens to field goals. He was coming off a 13-tackle performance against William & Mary in week one and is currently ranked fourth in the NCAA with 15.5 tackles per game.

Bissell's performance on special teams equaled Bryant's level of play. He accounted for all of Lafayette's points with field goals of 40, 40 and 47 yards, the first time since 2000 that a Leopard kicker has made three kicks of 40-plus yards in a game. Kicking in a downpour for most of the game, Bissell's 47-yard boot in the third quarter was Lafayette's first field goal of 45 yards or more since 2012. Additionally, Bissell had two kickoffs for touchbacks and an onside kick that the Leopards recovered.

Lafayette hosts Princeton on Saturday at 6 p.m.
