EASTON, Pa. -- Lafayette seniors Collin Albershardt and Andy Labudev each earned places on the Academic All-Patriot League Team announced on Wednesday. The defensive linemen add the honor to COSIDA Academic All-District II Team selections announced in early November.

For Albershardt, it is the second consecutive selection to the Academic All-Patriot League squad. Albershardt started all 11 games at defensive end for the Leopards in 2016, making 33 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss. An Economics major, Albershardt holds a 3.61 cumulative GPA and was a team captain.

Labudev was Albershardt's defensive line mate, starting every game at tackle where he made 24 tackles with three tackles for loss (all sacks). An Economics and International Affairs dual major, Labudev maintains a 3.60 GPA.

The Academic All-Patriot League Team honors student-athletes who excel both on and off the field and has 14 student-athletes to equal one-half the size of the All-Patriot League Football First Team. The awards are nominated and voted on by the Patriot League football sports information directors. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a minimum of a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible..
