BOSTON - Senior Devin Smith broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash, while fellow senior Jarrel Bobb earned a third-place finish in the long jump to lead Lafayette in the first full day of the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.

Smith placed third out of 35 runners in the preliminary round of the 200 dash with an ECAC-qualifying time of 24.76, well-below her previous mark of 25.14 set as a freshman back in 2013. She advances to tomorrow afternoon's final, which will take place at approximately 3 p.m.

Bobb, meanwhile, earned the highest finish for the Leopards in the 11 events which reached their conclusion today. His new personal-best jump of 23' 7 1/4" was the fifth-furthest in school history, and it added six points to Lafayette's team total.

The Maroon and White earned another four points from Sam Cutrone's fifth-place showing in the heptathlon. He tallied a personal-best 4,447 points across the two-day competition, over 300 over his previous high, to vault himself to fourth all-time in the program record book. Cutrone's top events were the high jump and the 60 hurdles, where he finished as the runner-up in each.

The men tacked on two more points in the weight throw and the 4x800 relay to bring their Saturday total to 12 points. Patrick Corcoran placed eighth in the weight throw with a top toss of 53' 5 3/4", while the relay squad of Matt Weintraub, Tyler Pressl, Andrew Morra and Frank Clarke took eighth with an IC4A-qualifying time of 7:50.50. The Leopards currently sit in sixth place, seven points back of fifth-place Lehigh.

The Lafayette women picked up two points on the afternoon through a seventh-place finish from Laura Oh in the weight throw. Oh recorded a personal-best distance of 48' 3 1/2" to put the Leopards in eighth place through the first six events.

Erin Keen posted a PR time of 7.87 in the preliminary round of the 60 dash. That was the fifth-fastest time in school history and the sixth-fastest out of 29 runners. She was unable, though, to advance to Sunday's final after registering a 7.92 in the semifinal round later on. That mark put her in 11th place, 0.05 out of the qualifying places.

The final day of the Patriot League Championships is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with three field events, while the running events will begin at 12 p.m.

Note:

Thomas Day, while finishing out of the scoring places with a 14th-place result in the 5000 meters, still managed to post the ninth-fastest mark in program history after crossing the line in 15:00.13.
