PATRIOT LEAGUE OPENER: Lafayette will play Bucknell in a three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single seven-inning game on Sunday at Metzgar Fields.

ABOUT BUCKNELL: The Bison come into the weekend at 16-11 overall. They are 2-1 in Patriot League play after taking the first two games with Holy Cross last weekend (5-3, 5-1) before dropping the finale 5-4.
Sophomore 1B Megan Kovac leads the Patriot League with a .479 batting average and is also tops in RBI's (27), and doubles (13) and total bases (71). Senior P/OF Amanda Fazio has been stellar in the lead-off spot, hitting for a .378 average while swiping 17 bases. Fazio has been just as good on the mound with a 7-6 record and a 1.28 ERA in 17 appearances with 72 strikeouts to eight walks. Fazio has split time with classmate Dana Nielsen who is 7-3 with a 2.84 ERA.
LAST TIME OUT: Allison Brown's two-run home run in the third inning of game one proved to be the difference in a 3-1 win over Drexel in the first game on Wednesday. Brown (2-for-3) drove in all three of the Leopards' runs, adding an RBI-single in the first. Stephanie Thomas allowed just three hits over the final five innings in a win that snapped a seven-game team losing streak. Thomas struck out three and walked just one while giving up five hits on the afternoon. In the nightcap, Drexel broke open a scoreless tie with an eight-run fourth inning. The Dragons sent 13 batters to the plate and managed six hits in the inning. The Leopards were held to three hits in the five-inning game: Jenna Orlando (single), Brooke Wensel (single) and Morgan Biddle (triple).
COMING UP: Lafayette will have two days off from game competition before travelling to La Salle on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. doubleheader. The Leopards return home April 9-10 to host Holy Cross.
