June 28, 2018 The Lafayette Athletic Communications Department will see three promotions effective July 1, as announced today by Vice President for Marketing and Communications Mark Eyerly. Scott Morse is being promoted to Senior Director of Communications for Campus Life and Athletics while Philip LaBella has been named Director of Athletic Communications and Brian Ludrof will serve as Director of Creative Media.
As part of an expanded role, Morse will provide strategic communications advice to Vice President Annette Diorio and her senior team, and will oversee development of communications support for initiatives such as the Campus Climate Survey and Health Services' partnership with St. Luke's. Morse will continue his leadership of all athletic communications, marketing and promotions, including the Lafayette Sports Network.
LaBella will take on the added responsibility for directing the planning, implementation and supervising of communications programs across all intercollegiate sports, as well as sharing oversight of the department's operating budget. He will continue to play a key role in the hiring of all departmental staff while overseeing all traditional sports information duties (archiving, statistics, photography).
Ludrof will create, implement, and continuously update a comprehensive and innovative content (video, social, digital, etc.) strategy for athletics, oversee all content production while also being responsible for the hiring of the part-time graphic/digital design staff. He will also share in the oversight of and provide significant input to the department's operating budget.
"Together, these promotions will help us more closely connect our marketing of the Division I athletics program with our efforts to promote Lafayette's intellectual and community life, and they will strengthen our ability to garner external attention for our student-athletes," said Eyerly.
