Women's Soccer Travels to Bucknell for PL Opener

The Leopards will face the defending tournament champions on the road

* Lafayette opens the 2018 Patriot League campaign on Saturday afternoon at Bucknell, the reigning league tournament champions. The two teams have met annually since 1991 with the Leopards having a 5-21-2 mark in the series.

* The six Lafayette seniors will be seeking their first win over the Bison when they take the pitch at Emmitt Field for the 1 p.m. start. They had a near miss as freshman when they battled to a 2-2 tie in 2015.

* Lafayette enters the match with a 3-4 record and Bucknell is 2-5-1. The Leopards lost 1-0 at Central Connecticut on Sunday and Bucknell is coming off a 5-1 setback at Saint Joseph's.

* Despite the Leopards recent scoring drought, senior forward Alex Stanford still leads the Patriot League in scoring with five goals and an assist for 11 points.  This figure is tied with American's Yari Bradfield, although Stanford has achieved those marks in one fewer contest.

* Goalkeeper Maggie Pohl and defenders Caitlin Balmer and Lauren Johnson have been stalwarts for head coach Mick Statham - playing all 630 minutes the team has logged this season.
