The Leopards look to bounce back after tough loss at Army

First Touch

 * Lafayette makes their longest trip of the season this weekend when they head to Massachusetts to take on Boston University at Nickerson Field. The Terriers are 3-7-2 overall and tied for second in the Patriot League at 2-0-1. The Leopards, 4-6 on the season, are in a tie for sixth place in the PL with Holy Cross at 1-2.

 * Boston University and Lafayette have met annually since the Terriers joined the Patriot League from the America East Conference in 2013. The two teams squared off twice in 2017 as BU defeated the Leopards 1-0 in the PL tournament on a goal in the 75th minute.

 * Since Patriot League play started, BU sophomore forward Anna Heilferty has registered at least one point in each of the Terriers three games, including a pair of goals in a 3-0 win over Holy Cross on Wednesday. The Leopards opponent also rotates at the goalkeeper position between freshman Morgan Messner and sophomore Amanda Fay.

 * Lafayette women's soccer players have earned a quartet of weekly awards this season. Senior forward Alex Stanford won Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks in late August. Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Pohl and freshman forward Katie Butler garnered Goalkeeper and Rookie recognition, respectively.

 * Lafayette was picked to finish seventh in the Patriot League in the annual preseason poll of coaches and sports information directors. Boston University received six first-place votes and was tabbed for second in the PL preseason poll, one spot behind Navy.
