Volleyball Closes Home Slate with Loss to Army

Leopards fall in three sets on Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night

Box Score EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette volleyball team closed out its home 2019 campaign on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 loss to Army at Kirby Sports Center.

The Leopards battled tough in the first and third sets, but couldn't complete the comeback in any of the three. Final set scores stood at 25-22, 25-14 and 25-23 to drop Lafayette to 13-15 overall and 2-13 in Patriot League action.

Leanna Deegan led the Leopards offensively with eight kills, while Ellie Carrera-Justiz and Grace Tulevech chipped in with six apiece. On the defensive side, Grace Steurer registered 18 digs and Carerra-Justiz added 14.

Prior to the match, each Leopard was joined in starting introductions by a faculty or staff member who has impacted them throughout the 2019 fall semester. The effort was part of the team's Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night.

Lafayette returns to action in its next contest on Saturday in Washington, D.C., traveling to American for a 7 p.m. clash with the Eagles.
