Leopards Continue Season at Bucknell Tune Up

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team continued their season Friday at the Bucknell Tune Up.

On the women's side, Portia McKoy once again started off the action with a boom, finishing third in the 60 meter dash in a time of 7.96 seconds. 

Crosby Spiess continued her strong season, as she crossed the finish line in first place in the 400 meter dash. Her time of 1:00.49 was over a second faster than the second place finisher in the event.

Another win for the Leopards came in the 60 meter hurdles from Jill Warabak. Her time of 8.90 was good enough to take home first place. The success in the event did not stop there, as Kate Mozzochi also took home third place in the event in a time of 9.23. Katherine Ullmann also made the finals in the event, finishing eighth in a time of 9.62 seconds. Ullmann's day was not yet over, as she later came back to finish tied for third in the high jump with a top mark of 1.60 meters.

Annie Hathaway put forth another impressive performance for the Leopards, as she finished third in the pole vault with a top mark of 3.37 meters.

Olivia Barney once again put on a show in the throwing events for Lafayette. In the shot put, her toss of 12.54 meters was good enough for fourth place in the event. She followed that up with a third place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 15.43 meters. Also finishing strong in the event was Meredith McGee, putting forth a seventh place finish with a throw of 14.50 meters.

On the men's side, Greg Bove once again was victorious, winning the 400 meter dash in a time of 51.11. 

The 3000 meter run was another event the Leopards found success in, with three finishers in the top eight. Leading the way was Thomas Anthony, finishing fourth in a time of 8:59.06. Behind him was John Bell (5th, 8:59.38), and Tim Larsen (8th, 9:14.81).

Tyler Hubeny also gave the Leopards another great performance, finishing second overall in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.34 seconds.

Isaiah Moore got in on the action as well, finishing fourth in the high jump with a top mark of 1.85 meters.

The throwing events also continued to be a strong point for the men. In the shot put, Samuel Fishbein once again lead the way, finishing fourth with best toss of 14.91 meters. Finishing ninth overall was Casey McCollum with a best throw of 13.96 meters. Fishbein came back later to close out the action for the Leopards, finishing sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.61 meters.
