VAN CORTLAND PARK, N.Y. - The Lafayette cross country team continued its season on Friday afternoon at the IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships. The men's team finished 20th overall, while the women's team took home 25th place.
For the men, senior Bobby Oehrlein led the way, finishing in 108th place with a time of 26:05.4 in the 8k event. Sophomore Emil Arangala posted a time of 26:20.7, placing him 138th overall. Rounding out the top-five for the men's team were sophomores A.J. Sanford (153rd, 26:28.3), Alex Gent (175th, 26:43.9) and junior Sean Hamilton (210th, 27:02.2).
On the women's side of things in the 6K race, senior Becky Hartman finished first for the Leopards in 76th place with a time of 22:45.4. Classmate Rachel Hurley was 132nd (23:20.0) followed by freshman Elizabeth Borah (145th in 23:27.8), junior Emma Lorey (150th, 23:44.2) and freshman Kira Marr (193rd, 24:07.3).
The Leopards will now shift their focus to the Patriot League Championships on Oct. 29 in Lewisburg, Pa.
