PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Junior
Grace Harvey belted two doubles and drove in three runs as the Lafayette softball team beat host Maryland-Eastern Shore 7-2 on Saturday on the second day of the Eastern Shore Classic.

The Leopards (2-0) scored single runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings and padded the lead with three in the seventh.

In the first inning,
Natasha Miner did her job in the lead-off spot, drawing a walk and later taking home on a first-and-third steal play.
Julia Roman's two-out double in the third gave Lafayette the lead for good, 2-1.

Lafayette added a run in the fourth on an error and then Harvey plated another in the fifth with a sac fly for a 4-1 win.

The Maroon and White put things away with a three-spot in the seventh inning. Harvey accounted for two of the runs with her second double of the game. She later scored on an error to run the final to 7-2.

Senior
Kinzi Van Wyk collected her first win of the season, tossing five innings of three-hit softball. She struck out two and walked one.
Morrigan Gardiner was solid in relief, throwing the final two scoreless innings while striking out four and scattering four hits.

The Leopards close out the tournament with two games on Sunday, slated for a 9 a.m. matchup with St. Peter's and a 3 p.m. finale vs. UMES.
