Leopards Compete at Johns Hopkins Invitational

Nine Student-Athletes Compete in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. The Lafayette fencing team continued its season on Sunday at the MACFA A vs C event hosted by Johns Hopkins University.

The Leopards men's team competed in matches against Drew, Haverford, Johns Hopkins, Navy and William & Mary at the Blue Jay's Goldfarb Gymnasium. Lafayette defeated William & Mary 15-12.

Freshman Antoine Mannes (epee) led the Leopards with 14 wins as Mannes completed the weekend undefeated, followed by 13 victories from freshman Benito Hergert (foil), ten wins by freshman Amir Whitehead (foil), seven wins from senior Matthew Decker (sabre) and senior William Mcalpine (sabre), four wins by junior Grahame Ung (epee) and two wins by senior Sean Fitzgibbon (epee).
 
Lafayette will be back in action on February 13 when they compete in a Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association event at Drew University.
