EASTON, Pa. – Freshman quarterback
Ryan Schuster has made the most of his time on College Hill. In each of the first three weeks of the 2022 season, Schuster has been selected as the Patriot League Football Rookie of the Week, with his latest selection announced on Monday afternoon.

Schuster completed 14-of-23 passes for 151 yards and also ran for the Leopards' only touchdown on Saturday against No. 15/17 William and Mary.

For the season, the Macomb, Michigan native has completed 32-of-55 of his passing attempts (58 percent) for 239 yards and two touchdowns in three starts.

In
week two against FBS foe Temple (9/10), Schuster connected on 10-of-15 passes for two TDs at Lincoln Financial Field. He also carried the ball 15 times and picked up several first downs, but finished with one net rushing yard after being sacked eight times.

Schuster claimed
Rookie of the Week honors following a week one victory over Sacred Heart on Sept. 3. The mechanical engineering major ran for 34 rushing yards, including an 18-yard a touchdown run in the third quarter for the only points of the game. His 22-yard scramble on 3rd-and-30 at the SHU 41-yard line kept the drive alive and he followed by converting a 3rd-and-17 with his scoring run.Â

On Saturday, Lafayette will make its second trip in three weeks to Philadelphia when the Leopards travel to Franklin Field for a 1 p.m. matchup with Penn.
