EASTON, Pa. –  The Lafayette football coaching staff continues to bolster the roster and build for the future, adding five more signees as part of the Class of 2027.

This latest group of student-athletes, mostly on the offensive side of the ball, joins a group of 21 future Leopards who made it official during the
early signing period in December and on
National Signing Day on Feb. 1. Head coach
John Troxell '94 and his staff now have 26 commitments in the current staff's first full recruiting effort.

Today, Lafayette added a quarterback, two wide receivers, a tight end and an outside linebacker, with two each coming from the Lehigh Valley and from Somers, N.Y. and one from Arlington, Texas.

For the 2022-23 recruiting class (combining the three announcements) 14 student-athletes are slotted for the offensive side of the ball, while 10 are tagged for defense and two others are special teams additions.Â

Lafayette brings in five wide receivers, four offensive linemen, two running backs, two quarterbacks and a tight end on offense. Defensively, four linemen will come to College Hill, joined by four linebackers and two defensive backs. On special teams, the Maroon and White added a pair of kickers/punters in the 11
th scholarship recruiting class in the Patriot League era.

"We are excited to add five more student-athletes to our recruiting class," said Troxell, the Fred M. Kirby II '42 Head Football Coach. "We are building something special here at Lafayette and these young men are exactly what we are looking for in a Lafayette football player. They bring not only great skill on the football field but will be great additions to the campus community."
The signees from the Class of 2027 come to Easton from nine states/territories: seven from Pennsylvania (three from the Lehigh Valley), six from New Jersey, three from Maryland and Texas, two each hailing from Florida and New York and one apiece from Louisiana, North Carolina and Washington D.C.Â
