Leopards Host Senior Day Versus Bucknell

THE OPENING TIP
*    Lafayette celebrates Senior Day on Saturday with its final home regular-season contest against Bucknell at 2 p.m.

 *    Senior guard Jess Booth will be honored prior to the game today. Booth has played in 59 games in her career, accumulating 567 points. The senior has missed the last 11 games due to a hand injury sustained the week of Jan. 9.

*    Earlier this season, the Bison defeated the Leopards 56-44 in Lewisburg. Senior Jess Booth and junior Makayla Andrews led the Leopards in double figures with 13 points apiece. Junior Kayla Drummond joined her teammates in double figures, chipping in 12 points.

*    The Leopards dropped a 71-52 decision on a snowy Wednesday night at Cotterell Court. Sophomore guard Abby Antognoli took the reins of the Leopards' offense, leading Lafayette with 18 points. Junior guard Makayla Andrews recorded her 20th game in double figures, netting 11. Halee Smith also made an impact for the Leopards, recording seven points and grabbing six boards.

 *   Junior guard Makayla Andrews has scored in double figures in five consecutive games with 20 total double-figure games this season.

*    The Leopards close out the regular season on Wednesday at Navy.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL
    Bucknell sits in sixth place in the Patriot League heading into Saturday with a 12-15 overall and 8-8 Patriot League record. The Bison are coming off an 84-72 loss to Lehigh in Lewisburg on Wednesday.
    Sophomore guard Cecelia Collins paces the Bison with 14.1 ppg, after a 19-point effort in Wednesday's contest. Senior forward Emma Shaffer leads the Bison in both rebounds and assists per game with 9.3 and 2.3, respectively. Freshman Emma Theodorsson was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday for the second time this season, while averaging 7.5 ppg and 4.0 rpg.

LAST TIME OUT
    The Leopards dropped a 71-52 decision on a snowy Wednesday night at Cotterell Court.
    Sophomore guard Abby Antognoli took the reins of the Leopards' offense, leading Lafayette with 18 points. Junior guard Makayla Andrews recorded her 20th game in double figures, netting 11. Halee Smith also made an impact for the Leopards, netting seven points and grabbing six boards.
    The Raiders also had two in double figures, with leading scorer Taylor Golembieski scoring 17. Junior forward Tiasia McMillan chipped in 14.
    Colgate came firing off the tip-off, starting the game with a 10-0 run. Led by Antognoli with seven points, the Leopards headed into the second quarter trailing 18-13.
    Lafayette closed out the first half with a 13-6 run from 4:25 remaining in the second. Antognoli led the Leopards with 13 points as they headed to intermission down 33-27. 
    Colgate kept a steady lead throughout the third, shooting 61 percent from the floor. The Raiders closed out the quarter up 51-39 and on to the 71-52 final.
    The Raiders outshot the Leopards 62.7 percent to 35.1, while also outrebounding them 39 to 20.
 
SENIOR DAY

ANTOGNOLI TAKES THE REINS
    Sophomore guard Abby Antognoli netted 18 points at Colgate on Wednesday. Antognoli has averaged 12 ppg since missing Holy Cross (2/8) and Boston U. (2/11) due to injury.

REGULAR SEASON CLOSING QUICKLY
    The Leopards head into the final home regular season contest sitting in eighth place, with the Bison sitting two slots ahead in sixth.
    Lafayette travels to the last seed, Navy, on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip off. On Jan. 11, the Maroon and White defeated the Mids 69-57 in Easton. Abby Antognoli and Jess Booth paced the Leopards with a career-highs in points, with 24 and 21, respectively. The opening round of the Patriot League Tournament begins on March 4.

ANDREWS STAYS STEADY
    Junior guard Makayla Andrews averaged 15 points last week with a 16-point outing against Loyola before netting 14 points and grabbing nine boards against Army. Andrews put up 11 points in the Leopards' loss to Colgate on Wednesday.
    The Neptune, N.J. native has scored in double figures in 20 out of 26 games, including five outings with 20 or more points.

DONAHUE STEPPING UP
    Freshman guard Kay Donahue has stepped up at point guard over the last seven games, averaging 25 mpg. Prior to Colgate on Jan. 28, Donahue was averaging only 8.5 mpg.
    Donahue has developed into a pivotal asset off the bench, either joining or replacing Abby Antognoli as a point guard.  The rookie had a career-high nine-point outing against Army, also contributing five rebounds, three blocks, two steals and one assist.
