Women’s Basketball Promotes John Hannafin

Former director of operations will now serve as assistant coach

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College women's basketball program has promoted John Hannafin to assistant coach after serving as the team's director of operations during the 2022-2023 season.

Before arriving on College Hill, Hannafin served as an assistant girls' basketball coach at Staten Island Academy for nearly three seasons. During his first year in Easton, Hannafin focused on running camps and community outreach.

The women's basketball team recorded seven home victories and seven Patriot League wins during its 2022-2023 campaign, which resulted in the Leopards hosting round one of the Patriot League Tournament.

"John made a significant impact on the program since joining us a year ago," said head coach Kia Damon-Olson. "During his time as our director of operations, his passion for helping others and attention to detail shined. John connects well with our players, as well as the greater campus community, and I am happy to promote him to the role of assistant coach."

Hannafin replaces Katie Kolinski who accepted another coaching position after four seasons with the Leopards.
