BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Leopards returned to Lehigh's Goodman Campus cross country course for the Paul Short Invitational on Friday. Seniors Justin Brown and Elizabeth Borah paced the Leopards for the third meet in a row, earning 31st and 34th, respectively, out of more than 300 competitors in each race.
The Lafayette women competed against 39 teams, taking home seventh overall, while the men achieved 17th of 38 teams.
For the women, Borah garnered 34th with a final time of 21:50.2. Sophomore Anya Kazemi finished in 22:04.8, reeling in 51st. Junior Ava Severino (60th, 22:11.1) and freshmen Hazel Calway (63rd, 22:17.0) and Braelyn Graham (84th, 22:32.5) closed out the top five.
On the men's side, Brown secured 31st with a final time of 25:13.9. Senior Titan Casey and sophomore David Whitford placed 72nd (25:44.1) and 111th (26:12.1). Rounding out the top five for the Leopards were sophomore Cole Scattergood (139th, 26:24.9) and Cole Chukoskie (150th, 26:30.2).
Ruth White and Mike Formica from the New Hampshire and Indiana (Pa.) teams enjoyed the individual victories, respectively. George Washington took home the overall team wins for both the men's and women's races.
The Maroon and White travel to Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y. next for the ECAC/IC4A Championships on Oct. 17 at 10 a.m.
