EASTON, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Nadia Zaffanella was named the Patriot League Women's Soccer Midfielder of the Week on Monday afternoon following her performance against American. The Biology major helped lead the Leopards to a 2-1 Patriot League victory on Saturday.
The Ellington, Conn. native scored her fourth goal of the season in the 81
st minute against American, which tied the match, 1-1. Zaffanella headed the ball into the goal after a shot by
Era Methoxha was redirected to her. The goal was the 12th of her career, moving her into the top 10 for career goals (tied with Sue Falco and Jaclyn Giordano).
This is Zaffanella's first Patriot League weekly award of the season, after previously being named the 2023 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Patriot League Rookie of the Week two-times and Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week once.
Lafayette returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, traveling to Lewisburg, Pa. for a matchup with Bucknell.
