WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Lafayette opened the fall golf season on Monday at the Metropolis Intercollegiate, hosted by Columbia.
Harry Dessel leads the Leopards, shooting seven-over-par (74,73) over two rounds. The senior tallied five birdies to rise to a four-way tie for 23rd.
Sophomore
Travis Robertson finds himself five spots behind Dessel in the 84-player field. Robertson carded even par in the first round at the par-70, 6,878-yard Metropolis Golf Club, and shot a 79 in the second round to land t-28. Classmate
Reed Theiss (155) rests tied for 62nd. Freshman
Liam Brandt, making his collegiate debut for the Maroon and White, carded 17-over-par to end the first day in 69th. Junior
Hudson Pace shot an 87 over the first 18 holes, but rebounded with a three-over-par to sit tied for 73rd.
As a team, the Leopards currently are currently in 12th in the 15-team field, shooting 602.
Siena sits atop the team leaderboard, with a 573, holding a one-stroke advantage over North Dakota State. Siena's KC Nickel and North Dakota State's Rylin Petry are tied for first in the individual field, carding a one-under-par with 18 holes left to play on Tuesday.
