Women's Basketball Prepares to Host Bucknell

Lafayette game notes

STARTING FIVE
Lafayette has used the same starting lineup for seven of its 19 contests this season: guards Talia Zurinskas, Teresa Kiewiet, Sauda Ntaconayigize and Haylie Adamski and forward Tasha Chudy. Freshman forward Maddison Krug has seen an increased role due to a recent Chudy injury and the North Kingstown, R.I. native will now be relied on heavily as conference play continues.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL
The Bison concluded their non-conference schedule with a 4-7 record and collected a 54-45 victory in their last PL game vs. Loyola Md. (Jan. 24). Bucknell posted a 17-14 record in PL play last season and a 6-7 mark outside of the conference.
Wednesday marks the 95th meeting between the Leopards and Bison in their respective histories. Lafayette holds a 2-15 record against Bucknell since head coach Kia Damon-Olson has been at the helm. Lafayette won in the first meeting of the season (62-49), which marked the Leopards' first victory at Sojka Pavilion since 2013. The historic triumph was led by a 20-point performance from junior Teresa Kiewiet and career highs of 18 rebounds and six blocks by freshman Maddison Krug.
Looking at the Bison's matchup with Loyola, Reese Zemitis and Isabella Casey were the leaders on offense for Bucknell. Zemitis finished the outing with 15 points and five rebounds on 4-12 shooting from the floor. Casey logged 34 minutes for the Bison, scoring 13 points on 3-7 shooting and she grabbed six boards, two assists and a block. Tuana Coskun and Anna Kunzwiler contributed valuable minutes against the Greyhounds too, with Coskun scoring 10 points on an efficient 3-6 from the field and Kunzwiler secured a game-high nine rebounds, four points and she had three rejections.
As a unit, Bucknell shot 39.5 percent from the floor, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc and 75.0 percent from the charity stripe in the win.

LAST TIME OUT
Lafayette women's basketball fell short in a 62-48 final against Lehigh on Jan. 24 at Stabler Arena. Guards Teresa Kiewiet (17) and Sauda Ntaconayigize (11) were the Leopards' leaders on offense, combining for 28 points. Sophomore point guard Talia Zurinskas matched her career-high eight assists in the loss.

TRIPLE THREAT
Leopard guards Haylie Adamski, Teresa Kiewiet and Sauda Ntaconayigize are all shooting 40 percent or better from downtown this season.  Ntaconayigize leads the pack, shooting at a conference second best 42.6 percent clip and Kiewiet is right behind her with 41.2 percent (3rd in PL).  Adamski is shooting the deep ball at a 40.4 percent clip (4th in PL).
