WEST POINT, N.Y. - Lafayette could not hold off No. 16 Army's advance in a 22-6 outcome on Friday evening at Michie Stadium.
The Leopards earned the first goal of the game at 13:39 off of a free-position shot by freshman
Georgia Swarr. The Black Knights retaliated with a 7-1 run to cap off the opening period on top, 7-2.
Emma Toner fired in another free-position shot (10:58) to kick off the second quarter. Army continued its offensive barrage, using nine goals from six scorers for a 16-3 lead at the halftime break.
The Maroon and White crafted a handful of looks on cage during the third period, but the hosts stormed out of reach, 21-3, with four tallies by Brigid Duffy. Two scores were free position shots and one came during a woman-up situation.
Lafayette put three more goals on the board before Army found the net in the final 15 minutes.
Evelyn Guyer woke up the Leopard offense at 12:25 before Igneri added her second tally of the evening at 10:58 for a 21-5 deficit. At 6:34, Swarr notched her second free-position attempt as the Leopards' sixth goal. Army's Emma Ciocon concluded the game with a last effort at 1:37, assisted by Thais Jackson.
The hosts held the advantage in draw controls (20-10), ground balls (14-10), shots (45-20) and clears (18-18 to 13-20).

Kennedy Carr totaled 10 saves in the contest, including six in the first period. The senior shared the cage with
Molly Cunningham, who added two saves. Army's Lindsey Serafine and Anderson Strange made three saves apiece.
Next up, the Leopards have their first home game in 20 days on Wednesday. The 6:30 p.m. opening draw against Loyola Maryland serves as the Type 1 Diabetes Awareness game.
