EASTON, Pa. - Junior midfielder Cade Maglione earned a spot on the Preseason All-Patriot Team announced Thursday morning. Maglione played a crucial role in the Leopards midfield during the 2025 Patriot League Championship campaign.

In his first two seasons on College Hill, the Economics major has played in 36 games for Lafayette with 35 starts. Last year Maglione tallied 1,516 minutes during the season, including the 2025 Patriot League championship win against Lehigh (Nov. 15). Maglione was one of four leopards who played all 110 minutes of the title match.

The Allentown, N.J., native's work rate and success on the pitch also translated into the classroom. He was honored as a member of the 2025 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll with a 3.77 GPA.

In 2025, the Maroon and White captured their record-tying eighth Patriot League championship, finishing the season with an 8-7-7 record and a 3-2-4 mark in conference play. This season, Lafayette has been picked fifth in the Patriot League preseason poll, slotted behind American, Boston U., Lehigh and Bucknell and ahead of Army, Loyola, Colgate, Navy and Holy Cross.

The Leopards begin their 2026 season at Duquesne on Aug. 20 and their home opener features a matchup with Binghamton on Aug. 26.
