April 12, 1999
Lafayette junior Kim Stone (Newtown, PA/George
School) has been named the Patriot League's Offenisve Player of the
Week for play through April 10.
Stone had an eight point week, including scoring four of five goals and
assisting on another, all in the second half, as the Leopards came
back from a three-goal deficit to defeat Holy Cross, 12-11, on April 10.
Stone tallied three uninterrupted goals, including the game-winner
with 4:41 remaining in the game, to preserve Lafayette's sixth
consecutive win, the program's best streak since the 1991 squad won
16 straight matches and went 16-2.
Stone had a goal in the 12-6 win over Villanova on April 8, and an
assist in the Monmouth win, en route to snapping that school's record
breaking six-game win streak.
This is the second consecutive week that a Lafayette player has been
named Player of the Week by the Patriot League. This week's ECAC
Rookie of the Week freshman Heather McClelland was named Patriot
League Offensive Player of the Week on April 5.
The Leopards are 7-3 overall, 3-0 in the Patriot League and will host
La Salle on Wednesday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m..
