EASTON, Pa.- Head coach
Katie McConnell and the Lafayette women's lacrosse program added Caroline Crump, a 2018 Niagara graduate, to the staff on Wednesday. Crump will serve as the Leopards' assistant coach after spending three seasons at Skidmore.
"We are so excited for Caroline to join our program," McConnell said. "She stood out in the interview process for her commitment to her student-athletes success both on and off the field. I look forward to our team growing under her guidance."
Since Aug. 2022, Crump aided the Thoroughbreds' lacrosse program through mentoring, training, coaching and coordinating while maintaining the total development of the student-athletes as the highest priority. She was responsible for game strategies as the offensive coordinator, headed travel and recruiting itineraries, continued campus partnerships and fundraising, as well as served as a member of the DEI committee. During this time, she additionally worked as Skidmore's residential life liaison and coached high school lacrosse for the Albany Power.
Her coaching career began at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she was also an assistant coach from Aug. 2021 to June 2022.
The Rhinebeck, N.Y. native had a stellar collegiate playing career at Niagara University, where she graduated as the second all-time point scorer in program history with 217 points and 151 goals. She also ranks fourth in all-time assists with 66 while starting in 71 games. The Purple Eagle was added to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Second Team four times while earning five of the league's Player of the Week laurels. Crump was a Dean's List honoree from 2017-2020.
Crump earned her Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Niagara in 2018, minoring in Computer Science, Computer Forensics and Forensic Science. She then pursued a Master's in the same discipline afterwards, focusing on domestic violence within the LGBTQ+ and Victim Impact Statements.
