Recent Lafayette graduate Karen Schoch has been
named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches
Association's Division I Academic Squad for her academic and
athletic endeavors in the spring semester of 1999.
This isn't the first academic laurel to be bestowed upon Schoch, who
completed her undergraduate matriculation in May with a degree in
Mechanical Engineering. The defender claimed spots on USWLA
Academic Squad, USFHA Division I Academic Squad, NFHCA
National Academic Squad, as well as being a four year member of the
Patriot League Honor Roll and a Dean's List student. Schoch
graduated with a 3.66 overall grade point average, and finished strong
with a 3.81 in her last semester.
On the lacrosse field, Schoch started all 16 games she played in last
season, finding the net five times, while dishing out two assists, for
seven points. She finished her career with 26 points, including 14
goals and 12 assists.
The academic all-star also excelled in field hockey, starting 14 of the
15 matches she appeared in her senior year, heading up a defense
that allowed only 1.55 goals per contest.
