Box Score
PHILADELPHIA, PA - Lafayette jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a Vince D'Angelis double and an Ian Burley RBI single, but managed just one run the rest of the way, losing the second game of a doubleheader versus Drexel, 9-2.
The Dragons chipped away at Lafayette, scoring two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings, and then clustering together three runs in the sixth inning. Lafayette could only answer with a run in the top of the fifth inning, also the D'Angelis and Burley connection, as D'Angelis singled and Burley doubled to right to drive him in.
Matt Tambellini started for the Leopards, and battled for five complete innings, allowing nine hits and six earned runs. Tambellini took the loss, dropping him to 0-2 on the season.
Burley went 3-for-3, and 5-for-7 in the two game set, with both of the teams RBI. D'Angelis continued his hot-hitting ways, managing two hits in three trips to the plate, and scoring both runs.
Lafayette returns to action tomorrow as they head back to Philadelphia to face La Salle University in a doubleheader. Game time is set for noon.
