Box Score
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Sophomore Joseph Afful scored two goals in the first 15:07 of the game and that was all the scoring St. Francis (N.Y.) would need to hand Lafayette a 2-0 loss in men's soccer action on Tuesday.
Afful opened the scoring at 8:05, collecting a rebound after Lafayette senior keeper Craig Schroeder (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) stopped Agard Radoncic's shot from just outside the 18-yard box. Afful scored again at 15:07, converting from 12 yards away after receiving a through ball from Radoncic.
Lafayette applied some pressure in the second half, outshooting the Terriers, 7-5, after the intermission. St. Francis goalie Jeton Berdynaj made the margin stand, however, as he collected four saves, all in the second half.
Schroeder finished with two saves on the day.
Lafayette (1-7) returns to action at Penn on Oct. 4.
