NEW YORK (AP) - Craig Austin scored 23 points, including five in a second-half run that helped Columbia beat Lafayette 52-48 Saturday for its first win over the Leopards since 1987.
Columbia (4-2) scored the game's first 10 points but the Leopards climbed back to take a 28-26 lead on Reggie Guy's 3-pointer with 14:48 left in the second half.
Mike McBrien tied the score with a layup that triggered a 15-4 Columbia run and Austin followed with a 3-pointer that put the Lions ahead to stay, 31-28.
Lafayette (2-4) had won 11 straight from the Lions since a 64-63 Columbia victory on Dec. 8, 1987.
Brian Burke led the Leopards with 11 points.
