EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Rider had three players reach double figures including a 23-point effort from Mario Porter to earn an 86-66 win over Lafayette on Wednesday at Kirby Sports Center.

Rider (5-6) took control in the first half, leading by as many as 18 points. Porter paced the Broncs with 11 points while Rich Baker added six. The Leopards, who made a school-record 18 three-pointers in their last outing, struggled from long distance in the first half, shooting 1-for-13.

In the second half Rider jumped out to a 23-point lead less than three minutes in on a Jerry Johnson layup. The Leopards did manage to cut the Rider lead to 12 points on three different occasions, the last coming at 6:08 when Mike Farrell hit two free throws. Farrell, the Patriot League Player of the Week, finished with eight points and a career-high eight rebounds.

In the final six minutes, six different players scored for the Broncs, the majority coming on 8-of-11 free throw shooting. Rider was led by Porter's with 23 points followed by Johnson with 16 and Baker with 13. Porter led all players with 13 rebounds while Baker dished out six assists.

Brian Burke led the Leopards with 12 points followed by Ben Saxton and Winston Davis with nine points apiece.

Lafayette (6-6) travels to Bucknell on Jan. 9 to open Patriot League play. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
