EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette goaltender Casey Devlin (Devon, Pa./Episcopal Academy) earned her first Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award, and forward Megan Monahan (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) took home her third Offensive Player of the Week award of the year it was announced Monday.
Devlin was spectacular in net as the Leopards (13-2, 4-0) defeated Delaware 3-2 in double overtime Tuesday, and blanked Colgate 5-0 on Saturday, running their record-setting win streak to 13 games, a Patriot League record.
The junior net minder did not allow a goal in the final 39:27 against Delaware, stopping all eight Blue Hens' shots in the first overtime.
Against Patriot League foe Colgate, Devlin made nine saves to notch her fifth shutout of the season, and third in four conference contests.
Monahan collected her third Player of the Week award on the strength of four goals and one assist in the two games.
The Patriot League leading scorer tallied the game-winning goal in the 96th minute against Delaware, and added an assist on the Leopards' first score.
Monahan, the nation's third-leading point producer (51), then torched Colgate for a hat trick, her second of the season, en route to the 5-0 win.
Lafayette returns to action on Tuesday on the road against Rutgers at 7 p.m.
