COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) honored Makenzie Switzer, Lena Thedrian and Josephine van Wijk on 2025 Division I All-Mideast Region Teams on Wednesday afternoon.

Division I teams are separated into five regions: Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Northeast, South and West. Each of these regions recognizes up to 16 student-athletes on both the first and second teams for a total of 160 members.

The Leopards placed a conference-high four student-athletes on the list, leading Bucknell (1) and Lehigh (1).

Switzer led the way on the First Team after her recent Senior Team award on Nov. 20. She was a starter in all 19 contests, adding up to 1,169 minutes on the field. The Biology major is credited with four assists for four points and made one defensive save during her time on College Hill.

Thedrian and Van Wijk were both placed on the Second Team. Thedrian, a three-time conference Defender of the Week, paced the program offensively. The Hamburg, Germany native had eight goals and five assists under her belt for 21 points as a junior. She has three defensive saves in 2025. Van Wijk has also started in every contest, recording five goals and three assists for 13 points. The Psychology major patrolled the midfield and lifted the Maroon and White to a .612 shots-on-goal percentage.

The 2025 Patriot League runner-up Leopards closed out the season with a 12-7 (5-1 PL) record in the third-straight season of competing in the title match.

The NFHCA Division I All-Region team announcement is the first in a list of NFHCA postseason awards over the coming several weeks. Next to be announced are the NFHCA Regional Players of the Year on December 11, followed by the NFHCA All-American teams on December 16 and the NFHCA National Player of the Year on December 18.
