EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette field hockey's Laine Delmotte '25 and
Katie Gibb '27 are set to compete for the senior Canadian women's national team in the World Cup Qualifier in Santiago, Chile.
The qualifier takes place from March 2-8 and will follow a standard three-game pool play format. Podium finishers earn a berth to the World Cup this August, held in the Netherlands and Belgium by the International Hockey Federation.
Delmotte (#27) was rostered as a midfielder with four caps while Gibb (#24) is set to be a defender with five career caps.
Canada's women's national team qualified for the most recent FIH World Cup in 2022 after a 28-year hiatus and are now chasing a first back-to-back qualification since the early 1990s.
The No. 22 Wolf Pack opens the tournament against No. 12 Japan on Monday at 1:00 p.m. local time. All matches will be streamed live via
