Men's Basketball Falls To Binghamton, 77-68

VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) - Anthony Green scored a game-high 16 points and sank 8-of-10 free throws as Binghamton defeated Lafayette 77-68 on Saturday.

With 6:24 left in the first half and the score tied at 16-16, the Bearcats (1-0) nailed five three-pointers in a four-minute span to build a 35-25 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Leopards (0-1) cut the deficit to six, 60-54, with 5:25 remaining, but Brandon Carter scored a three-pointer and Nick Billings rejected Lafayette shots on back-to-back possessions. The Bearcats converted 12-of-16 free throws in the final 3:41 to seal the win.

Billings finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Joel Casseus and Sebastian Hermenier posted 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Binghamton.

Winston Davis led the Leopards with 16 points. Justin Deberry added 15 and Andrew Pleick finished with 14 points.
