HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) - Mark Linebaugh had 20 points and five assists to lead Colgate to an 85-73 victory over Lafayette on Sunday in the Patriot League.
Colgate (17-10, 8-6) shot 60 percent in the first half and took advantage of 12 Lafayette turnovers to take a 48-26 halftime lead. Lafayette (14-13, 8-6) ended the game on a 16-0 run, but it wasn't enough to catch the Raiders.
Colgate, which connected on 10-of-19 from three-point range, had four players in double figures.
Pat Campolieta had 11 points, adding six steals to break Colgate's record with 191 career steals. Howard Blue had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Tim Sullivan chipped in 19 points for the Raiders.
Justin DeBerry scored 14 points and had six rebounds to lead Lafayette. Mike Farrell and Andrew Pleick each added 12.
Brian Burke recorded his 300th career assist in the contest and now has 301 in his Lafayette career.
The Leopards played without Reggie Guy (thigh contusion) and Winston Davis (back injury), who both suffered injuries in the 98-93 victory over Lehigh on Wednesday. Guy and Davis are expected to play in Lafayette's opening game of the 2002 Patriot League Tournament vs. Colgate at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.
