VILLANOVA, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette Junior Meredith Hahn (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) opened up the game with a goal at the 8:52 mark, but the Leopards fell to Big East foe Villanova 2-1 in overtime.

The Leopards took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but surrendered a late second half goal to Villanova's Sarah Francis, knotting the score at one.

Both teams had several scoring chances late in regulation, but were turned away by outstanding play on the defensive end.

Villanova's Colleen Helms netted the game winning goal only 2:33 into the overtime session.

The loss drops Lafayette to 0-2.

Lafayette hosts West Chester at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Metzger Field.
