EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) -Despite goals by Melissa Hoh (Zionsville, Pa.) and Jennifer Stone (Newtown, Pa.) the Lafayette field hockey team fell to Bucknell 3-2 in Patriot League play on Saturday.
The Leopards dominated the game, out shooting the Bison 27-11. Stone led all players with 12 shots, but only one reached the back of the cage on a penalty stroke 64:39 into the game.
Hoh's unassisted goal came at 19:49 in the first half. It was the second goal of the season for the senior midfielder.
Senior goalkeeper Casey Devlin (Devon, Pa.) made four saves for the Leopards.
Kelly O'Brien scored two goals for Bucknell and Meiko Boynton added one for the Bison. Bucknell goalkeeper Liz Jordan made 12 saves in the game. Bucknell is now 5-1 overall, 2-1 in Patriot League play.
The Leopards fall to 6-5 overall, 0-2 in conference play.
Lafayette will be back in action on Wednesday, October 1 when they travel to New York City to take on Columbia at 7 p.m.
