Box Score

HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Five players scored in double figures as Colgate handed Lafayette its first Patriot League loss, 75-66, at Colgate on Friday.

The loss snaps Lafayette's seven-game winning streak, but the Leopards (16-5 overall, 7-1 Patriot League) still sit atop the Patriot League standings.

After trailing most of the contest, Rob Dill converted a three-point play off a behind-the-back pass from Mike Farrell to put Lafayette ahead 57-54 with 9:38 remaining, but Colgate (11-10, 3-5) outscored the Leopards 21-9 the rest of the way.

Colgate led by as many as nine four times in the opening stanza, including a 37-28 difference with 4:12 left. The Leopards, however, put together an 11-2 run to close out the first half, highlighted by a Justin DeBerry runner at the buzzer, to head into the locker room even at 39.

Dill's three-point play midway through the second half gave Lafayette its largest lead of the contest, but the Raiders answered with 11 straight to open the decisive run. Lafayette drew as close as a point with 2:08 left, but Andrew Zidar and Alvin Reed combined to hit 7-of-8 foul shots down the stretch to seal the win for Colgate.

Reed finished with a game-high 17 points, including 13 in the first half, while Kyle Chones added 14. Also in double figures for Colgate were Kendall Chones (12 points, nine rebounds), Zidar (12 points) and Mark Linebaugh (11 points).

Farrell led Lafayette with 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field. DeBerry chipped in 13 points, while Winston Davis added 11 points and nine rebounds.

Lafayette closes out a four-game road swing on Wednesday, visiting Army at 7 p.m.
