Lafayette Men's Lacrosse Falls to Stony Brook, 11-2

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) -Freshman Bart Seifert recorded one goal and an assist, but the Lafayette men's lacrosse team fell to Stony Brook, 11-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Seawolves got off to a quick start, scoring four goals in the first quarter while holding Lafayette scoreless. The Leopards finally got on the board at 7:04 of the second period on a Drew Weisman goal. Seifert got the ball to Weisman on the left side of the goal to capitalize on the man-up opportunity.

Stony Brook scored three more goals in the second to set the score at 8-1 at halftime.

The Seawolves came back from the break and scored three more times in the third period. Lafayette was able to find the back of the net once again at 12:15 of the fourth, as Seifert got the ball past Stony Brook back-up goaltender Errol Wilson off an Andrew Forbes pass.

Lafayette goalkeepers Michal Koch, Kevin DeVito and Chris Rosa combined to make nine saves for the Leopards. Wilson and Brendan Callahan combined for eight stops for Stony Brook (1-3).

Lafayette (1-6) will be back in action on March 27, as they travel to Geneva, N.Y. to take on Patriot League rival Hobart at 1 p.m.
