EASTON, Pa.- (www.lafayette.edu) - On a brisk, sun-drenched Saturday morning at Metzger Fields, the Lafayette cross country team hosted their annual Leopard Inviational. The events included the men's 5 mile run, followed by the women's 6k race. Penn came away victorious in both races, accumulating 69 points in the men's race and 76 points in the women's contest.

Leading the Leopards was junior Alex Wechsler and senior Autumn Karwiel. Wechsler continued his solid season with a fifth place finish in the 5 mile race, clocking in at 25:33.70. Senior captain Ed Dutch was the next Leopard to cross the finish line, coming in 15th place at 26:00.50. Mike Didio from St. Joseph's won the men's race, finishing with a time of 25:03.80.

Karwiel was the top Leopard finisher in the women's 6k race. The senior finished the race in 20th place at 20:13.10. Junior Katie Schultes was the second Lafayette member to complete the race when she finished in 29th place at 22:04.50. Penn junior Kim Stacy won the race, coming in at 20:13.10.

The Leopards will now have two weeks to regroup and prepare for the Patriot League Championship on Oct. 28 at Colgate.
