BETHLEHEM, Pa - The men's and women's cross country teams ran through the heat and the humidity at Lehigh's Goodman campus Friday to place fourth and second, respectively, in the six-team Lehigh Valley Championships.

Lafayette had three women finish in the top-10 in six-kilometer race. Freshman Margaret Bruno-Metzger led the Leopards with a time of 23:49.9, placing second overall. Sophomores Rose Kennedy and Christine Wittich also cracked the top-10. Kennedy placed fifth with a time of 23:56.9 and Wittich had a time of 24:07.9, which was good enough for eighth. The women finished with a score of 47 points.

On the men's side, freshman Ryan Stasiowski ran the eight-kilometer course in 27:37.4 to finish 12th, while senior Kevin Cunningham finished just four spots below him with a time of 28:00.06. The men totaled 92 points in the race.

The Leopards will meet the Mountain Hawks again on Sept. 15 when they host a dual on their home course at Metzger Fields. The women are set to start at 9:30 a.m. and the men will run at 10:15 a.m.
