EASTON, Pa. - Two incoming Lafayette men's soccer players have been featured in recent issues of Rise Magazine. Wayne Maminski (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) is featured on the cover of the most recent Greater Philadelphia edition of the magazine, while Shane Pruitt (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) has been mentioned in several articles over the past few months. Rise Magazine is the nation's leading sports and active lifestyle magazine for teens.
Maminski, a forward from Philadelphia, Pa., was a four-year starter at Father Judge High School and leaves as the school record holder in goals scored and assists. This past fall, he helped guide the team to its first Catholic League championship in 31 years and a number one ranking in Southeastern, Pa. Maminski was also a starter on FC Delco Hammerheads.
Pruitt will join the Leopards from Peters Township High School in Venetia, Pa., where he finished his career with 50 goals and 27 assists. Pruitt's team won the 2007 PIAA AAA State Championship in which he scored the game-winning goal. The forward, who also received interest from Penn State, West Virginia, Louisville and Virginia Tech, was named the NSCAA State Player of the Year as well as the Gatorade State Player of the Year following his senior season.
Maminski and Pruitt are part of head coach Dennis Bohn's 10-member recruiting class that is set to join the Leopards this fall. The Class of 2012 includes three forwards, three midfielders, two defenders and a goalie.
