EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette field hockey team was recognized with the 2009 NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for earning a 3.30 grade-point average (GPA) as a squad during the fall 2009 semester.
With her 3.92 GPA in Economics and Business and Art, junior Lindsay Majno led nine student-athletes named to the National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad singles out student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year.
Joining Majno were; Kelsey Andersen (Biology, 3.32), Meghan Cicchi (Chemistry, 3.40), Meghan Cloonan (History/English, 3.44), Kelly Hilovsky (Neuroscience, 3.55), Mara Kish (Chemical Engineering, 3.68), Cara Lyons (Civil Engineering, 3.46), Emily Valeo (undeclared, 3.50) and Jaclyn White (Geology, 3.83).
The Leopards were honored earlier this year by the Patriot League as 11 of team's 20 student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
