Leopards fall to Wildcats 3-0 in N.C.

WISTSON-SALEM, N.C. - The Lafayette field hockey team continued its play in Winston-Salem, N.C. as the Leopards took on Davidson at Wake Forest's Kentner Stadium. The Leopards played a strong 70 minutes but fell 3-0 to the Wildcats.

Statistically, the two teams finished fairly even, with Lafayette (0-2) just edging out Davidson on shots, 16-13. Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Andersen made four saves in the cage as the Wildcat's Sarah Fisher made nine. Both teams took six corner shots; Davidson was able to score both second-half goals on corner plays.

Sophomore Deanna DiCroce found her way to the cage the most for the Leopards taking three shots-on-goal.

Davidson's (4-0) first goal came in the 19th minute by forward Finley Amato, while the last two goals came from Christina Rua and Gray Robinson in the 64th and 69th minute, respectively.

The Leopards continue their road games as they take on the Temple Owls on Friday at 4 p.m.
