Box Score

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Lafayette men's lacrosse traveled to Drexel on Tuesday afternoon and dropped an 18-5 decision in Philadelphia. Senior attack Greg Allis paced the Leopards with two goals on the afternoon.

The Dragons jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead just three minutes into the game before senior co-captain Stefan Bauer used a Colin Serling assist to get the Leopards on the scoreboard with 7:09 remaining in the opening quarter.

After Drexel responded just over a minute later, Will Heffernan was on the end of a Bauer assist and the Leopards were hanging tight with under two minutes left in the first period.

However, after two Dragon goals in the final minute of the frame stretched the lead to 5-2, Drexel went on an 11-0 run spanning the start of the second quarter to the 4:16 mark of the third period.

The Leopards ended the Dragon scoring streak with Allis' first goal of the afternoon to close the third quarter and opened the fourth quarter scoring with an unassisted, even-strength goal from Franklin Floyd at the 13:17 mark.

Allis' goal with 10:39 remaining in the game capped off the Leopard scoring.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ed Stubits made his second collegiate start and tallied 11 saves between the pipes for Lafayette.

The Leopards will take the rest of the week to regroup and and prepare to return to Patriot League action on Saturday afternoon at Army. Face-off is set for 12 p.m. in West Point, N.Y. Fans unable to attend the game can listen to the game live on LSN All-Access, beginning at 11:55 a.m. with Matt Panto.
