EASTON, Pa. - Junior Chris Parker has been chosen as the Patriot League Male Track Athlete of the Week announced by the League on Monday.

Parker, a native of Neenah, Wis., competed in the 800m run on Friday at the Lafayette/Rider Invitational and earned a sixth-place finish in the event held at the NYC Armory. His IC4A qualifying time of 1:52.46 is a new personal best and ranks second all-time at Lafayette. It also is the fastest time in the Patriot League this season. The award is the first of Parker's career, who is majoring in Biochemistry.

Sophomore Elise Buffinton was also an honorable mention for Female Field Athlete of the Week after setting the Lafayette school record in the pole vault with her jump of 11' 9.75''.

Lafayette travels to Lewisburg, Pa. for the three-day Patriot League Championships, beginning on Friday.
