Student-Athletes Honors Roster -- 2012 Fall Semester (PDF)

EASTON, Pa. - A total of 343 Lafayette student-athletes were recognized with Lafayette Athletic Department student-athlete honors for the fall semester, Director of Athletics Bruce McCutcheon has announced.

Sixty-six percent of Lafayette's 517 student-athletes earned higher than a 3.0 GPA, including 16 students with perfect 4.0 GPA's. In total, 343 athletic team members comprise the Academic Honor Roll, which is separated into three levels by the Lafayette Athletic Department. The gold level groups the student-athletes with GPA's of 3.80 and above, while silver ranges from 3.50 to 3.79 and bronze is between 3.00 and 3.49.

The gold level was made up of 49, silver had 107 and bronze totaled 187 student athletes. Lafayette student-athletes have now reached the 65 percent threshold in ten consecutive semesters, a mark that had only been reached once, the 2003 spring semester, since the inception of the Patriot League in 1990.

Track & field led the way with 10 gold honors, followed by swimming & diving (8) and baseball (4). Every one of Lafayette's 23 sports had at least one student-athlete represented in the gold category.

Individually, Lafayette had eight Academic All-Patriot League selections in the fall semester.

Women's cross country runner Rose Willey, a Mathematics-Economics major, earned the distinction with her cumulative 3.88 GPA. A pair of men's soccer players, Blake Fink (Government & Law, 3.71 GPA) and Julian Plummer (Psychology, 3.49 GPA), were honored as well as field hockey's Emily Valeo (English, 3.78 GPA) and Jaclyn White (Geology, 3.8). Rounding out the group were football's Brad Bormann (Biology, 3.77 GPA) and Mark Ross (Economics, 3.63 GPA) and women's soccer's Lauren Smedley (Neurology, 3.38).
