DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - Sean Goldrich threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns and R.J. Harris had 173 yards receiving to help New Hampshire roll past Lafayette 45-7 Saturday and advance to the second round of the FCS playoffs.
The Wildcats (8-4, 6-2 Colonial Athletic Conference) jumped ahead quickly as Nico Steriti rushed for a one-yard score set up by a 39-yard pass from Goldrich to Harris.
Goldrich threw two touchdowns to Harris and Dalton Crossan to grab a 21-0 advantage in the first quarter.
Nick Cefalo had an 86-yard punt return touchdown the second quarter. Chris Setian and Crossan each added long scoring runs in the second half to fuel the rout.
Lafayette (5-7, 4-1 Patriot League) got on the board late with a six-yard touchdown from Blake Searfoss to Mike Duncan.
New Hampshire will face No. 5 seed Maine in the next round on Dec. 7.
