Fast Time Results

Bethlehem, Pa. - Lafayette opened the season with a strong showing at the Fast Times Invitational at Lehigh Friday and Saturday. Sophomore Jarrel Bobb led the way on the men's side with a personal best in the Long Jump, while junior Haley Langton and sophomore Dejana Harris led the women's side with personal bests in the 200m and 60m Hurdles, respectively.

Bobb won the long jump with a leap of 22' 11", good for eighth all time, and the 4x800 Meter Relay team consisting of freshmen Andrew Morra, Noah Krassin, Kevin Smith and sophomore Thomas Day finished first with a time of 8:21.28.

Morra also came in third in the 1000 meter run with a 2:33.94 mark, while junior Andrew Haff finished eighth with a time of 2:44.39. Seniors Neil Franzese and David Robinson finished sixth in the 500 meter dash (1:07.69) and 60 (7.18) meter dash.

Sophomore Colton Mitchell placed sixth in the pole vault. Junior Juannell Riley took fifth with a throw of 50' 1 3/4" in the weight throw.

On the women's side, Langton finished third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.16, a personal best and 10th all time. Harris took fourth in the 60 meter hurdles finishing in 9.29, also her best mark and eighth all time, and senior Hallie Farber placed fifth with a time of 3:10.31 in the 1000 meter run.

The women's 4x400 Meter Relay team consisting of freshmen Drew Davis, Tessa Broholm, Julianna Vuotto and Jessica Rupp took third with a time of 4:10.20. In the field events, freshman Mara Blanchard finished sixth in the pole vault at 10' 10" (eighth all time), and sophomore Sarah Talmadge placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 39' 4 1/2".

The Leopards are on break for finals and return to action on January 11th at the Bucknell Mini-Meet for the throwers. The entire team will compete January 18th at the NYU Shoot Out at the NYC Armory.
