Cross Country Competes at the Lehigh Invitational

Easton, Pa. - The Lafayette men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2013 season this morning at the Lehigh Invitational. Senior Rose Willey won the race on the women's side with a time of 22:45.67, followed closely by sophomore Stephanie Benko, who finished third to help the Leopards finish third out of 13 teams. In the men's race, sophomore Thomas Day paced the Maroon and White, finishing at 19:50.78 and crossed the line in the 24th position.

Brigid McGill finished 24th overall in her first collegiate race, followed by junior Grace Watters crossing the line 30th overall. Rookie Alexa Deemer and sophomore Nicolette Reilly round out the Leopards top 50 finishers in 34 and 47 respectively.

On the men's side, junior Andrew Warshauer finished 28th with a time of 19:54.29. The Maroon and White finished eighth out of 14 teams.

The Leopards will host Lehigh in a dual meet on September 21.
